Munster rugby legend and former Irish Captain Mick Galwey was in Dingle last week to present West Kerry Rugby Club, Cumann Rugbaí Chorca Dhuibhne, with their new jerseys which are this year being sponsored by Siopa Londis Uí Fhlaithearta (O'Flaherty's Londis) of Baile an Mhuilinn, Dingle. O'Flaherty's Londis Dingle are proud sponsors of Rugbai Chorca Dhuibhne for the 2009/2010 season. The club's rapid development has seen rugby become West Kerry's fastest growing sport in an area previously dominated by Gaelic Football.
O’Flaherty’s Londis Dingle are also proud supporters of the GAA and they welcomed former GAA President Sean Kelly to their store. Mr. Kelly is credited with brokering the negotiations which allowed for soccer and rugby in Croke Park as well as being respected the length and breath of the county for his active role in the development of the GAA. Customers were delighted to meet and greet the man himself as he took time to speak with locals.
O’Flaherty’s Londis Dingle scored a try as members of Rugbai Chorca Dhuibhne called in with the Heineken European Cup! The Munster team had loaned the cup to the local rugby club to display at a fundraising event; as sponsors of Rugbai Chorca Dhuibhne in 2009/2010, customers at O'Flaherty's Londis-Dingle were afforded the chance to get up close and personal with the coveted prize as the cup was paraded in-store.
